Card Games

Shuffle the cards well and deal the entire deck between players with the cards facing down. Whoever does not deal, starts the play by taking the top card from their pile and placing it face-up between players. If the card is a number card (2-10), play continues and players take turns putting one card down at a time. When a face card or an Ace is played, the next player must play another face card or an Ace. If they do not play a face card or an Ace, the player who laid down the face card or Ace gets to take the pile of cards.

The only play that overrides the face card/Ace rule is the slap rule. When a “slap rule” play occurs, the first person to slap the pile of cards gets to take the pile of cards. BUT with this Date Night In Box version, in addition to slapping the pile, you must say one way you’d like to grow together or one way you have already grown together (Ex: improved communication, better decision making, prioritizing date night, etc.). If a player slaps the deck and one of the slap rules has not occurred, the player must add a card to the bottom of the pile. The game is won when one player earns the entire deck of cards.
