Keychain Instructions

option 1

Cut two 50-inch-long pieces of jute string and fold them in half.

Place one loop through the ring, then fold it over the ring, pulling the rest of the string through.

Repeat this process with the second piece of jute string and pull both strings tight.

While creating the square knot, keep the two center strings in the middle. Begin the knot by placing the string on the far left (string A) over the other pieces in the shape of the number 4. Then, place the string on the far right (string B) on top of string A.

Next, pull string B under and through the gap between string A and the center strings. Then, pull strings A and B tight.

After that, arrange the strings in the shape of a backwards 4 by placing string B over the other pieces. Place string A on top of string B.

Pull string A under and through the gap between string B and the center strings. Then, pull strings A and B tight.

You should now have one square knot.

Repeat the steps above, creating square knots until you reach desired keychain length. If you desire, place a bead through the two center strings. Then, create one more square knot below the bead and tie off the string. Unravel the strings to create a tassel end.

option 2

Cut two 50-inch-long pieces of jute string and fold them in half.

Place one loop through the ring, then fold it over the ring, pulling the rest of the string through.

Repeat this process with the second piece of jute string and pull both strings tight.

To create the twisted pattern, make continuous half square knots. Begin the knot by placing the string on the far left (string A) over the other pieces in the shape of the number 4. Then, place the string on the far right (string B) on top of string A.

After that, pull string B under and through the gap between string A and the center strings. Then, pull strings A and B tight.

Repeat the previous step until you reach the desired keychain length. Feel free to add a bead or create a tassel at the end using instructions in Option 1.
